Diamond Touch Limited sources and processes raw cashew nuts from outgrowers in Mongu and sells them to supermarkets and retailers in Lusaka. Split cashew nut kernels are processed into cashew butter to avoid wastage. The enterprise is currently looking into acquiring land for setting up a cashew plantation in Mongu, Western Province, to enable the planting of up to 45,000 cashew trees in the next 3-5 years. The plantation will be set up in Zambia's poorest province, Western Province and it will have the local community directly engaged through employment by Diamond Touch. The project aims to help lower income groups especially women and youths’ access income through increased tree population and cashew nut harvest, while also contributing to afforestation.
